Hugh Le Caine - “Dripsody”
Taken from the compilation OHM: The Early Gurus of Electronic Music
This track was compiled using nothing more than a tape machine, some razors, tape adhesive, and miles and miles of tape. He only used one sound - a single drop of water. He changed the pitch of the sound by speeding up the recording and making copies. Needless to say this was a grueling fucking task and one would need the patience of a monk.
This guy was also an atomic physicist and assisted in the radar’s creation during WWII. Not only that, but he also created what is regarded as the first synthesizer ever made called the Electronic Sackbut.
Scientist, engineer, AND an innovative musician/composer. I want to be this awesome!
